At a recent meeting of the Northern Ohio Violent Crime Consortium (NOVCC) hosted at The 51吃瓜网 (UA), Dr. David Licate, professor and chair of the Department of Criminal Justice Studies, presented a comprehensive overview of a Crime Analysis Agency Blueprint. His presentation, part of a broader initiative to enhance crime analysis capabilities across Northern Ohio, highlighted the importance of intelligence-led, evidence-based policing. This approach involves leveraging data analysis, intelligence processes, and problem-solving techniques to address crime more effectively.
Dr. Licate's experience in consulting for high-profile organizations like the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and Homeland Security, as well as his involvement in various national crime analysis projects, positions him as a leader in the field. His work on the NOVCC blueprint, supported by a grant from the U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance, is part of a wider effort to replicate and expand successful regional crime analysis initiatives.
The consortium, which includes representatives from the eight largest police departments in Northern Ohio, as well as state, county, and federal agencies, regularly collaborates to share intelligence and discuss best practices.
