The Dr. Sally K. Slocum Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. Sally K. Slocum Endowed Scholarship was established in 2010 by Dennis H. Gartman, The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø class of 1972 and editor/publisher of the Gartman Letter, to honor his beloved professor. 

Prize:

  • TBD, but historically between $500-$1000 (Renewable).

Who can enter:

  • Undergraduate Liberal Arts students enrolled in the Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences at The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø with preference given to English Majors.
  • Restricted to students returning for the following academic year.
  • Student should be enrolled full-time as an English major in BCAS.
  • Student should have a high G.P.A.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Student should apply for the award with a 1-2 page letter explaining how he/she would benefit by receiving the scholarship.
  • The letter should be double-spaced in 12-point font, preferably Times New Roman.
  • Student should include his/her name, email address, and student ID number on the letter.
  • Save the title of your document in “LAST NAME-Award Title” format (for example, SMITH-Slocum Scholarship).
  • Upload your document in PDF form.
  • The submission link will become available in February 2025.
